Dhaka Weaves is devoted to women learning how to help themselves
through entrepreneurship and leadership. Women of Nepal inherited
an age-old tradition of rare textile creation and quality craftsmanship.
A company wholly owned and managed by women, Dhaka Weaves preserves
traditional Nepali weaving. Economically disadvantaged rural and
urban weavers acquire design and technical skills training which
builds self-esteem, confidence and financial self-reliance.
Dhaka Weaves assists women weavers by upgrading traditional skills
with technical trainings, offering professional guidance and counseling,
linking entrepreneurs to sales networks, providing seminars, workshops
and trade fairs, and locating global market niches. These exquisitely
rich world-class textiles are hand-woven in brilliant colors and
in natural cotton, Pashmina and silk.
Weavings are available for purchase with ALL proceeds going to
Dhaka Weaves, Nepal
